Ammerman Campus Registration Procedures

Priority Registration for the Spring 2015 semester takes place November 3-11, 2014.

Students should begin seeing faculty advisors (if they haven’t already done so) and preparing to register immediately!

Registration for Wintersession also begins on November 3, 2014.

Walk in Advisement for Students with Holds:

·         Developmental Hold (Counselor Signature Required) Advisement available in the Counseling Center, Ammerman Building, Room 209.

·         Probation Hold (Counselor Signature Required) Advisement available in the Counseling Center, Ammerman Building, Room 209.

·         Faculty Advisement:

·         Students that do not require a counselor’s signature can register online.  Faculty connect with students to provide advisement in three ways:

o   By inviting students in one or more of their classes to make an appointment to see them.

o   Through program specific faculty connections– for students enrolled in specific programs (e.g., Business, Criminal Justice, etc.).

o   Through the Academic Advising & Mentoring Center located in the Ammerman Building Room 101B—to connect with faculty in students’ areas of interest.

Walk-In Advising:

·         Students, who do not need a signature, may use:

·          Academic Advising & Mentoring Center in the Ammerman Building, Room 101B.  Faculty and personnel will be available to see students for questions and assistance. Available Mon.-Fri. 9:00am -5:00pm.

·

·         WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW TO CREATE A GOOD SCHEDULE

·         Transcript and SAIN – Print them out and verify that the same courses appear on both.

·         Program of Study – review the college catalog and know what courses are required for graduation

·         Unsure of which courses to take? – speak with a faculty member or counselor.

·         Thinking of Changing their Major

o   Speak with a faculty member or counselor to obtain more information

o   Visit the Admissions Office in the Ammerman Building, first floor, to complete a Change of Emphasis Form for restricted programs or the Registrar in the Ammerman Building lower level for non-restricted programs.

WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW TO ACCESS THEIR STUDENT RECORDS

·         User Name and Password to log onto MYSCCC.  If a student cannot log in, they should try to reset the password on-line or visit any campus Registrar to reset the password.

·         Check their SCCC email account to obtain registration information and instructions regarding Priority Registration.

·         View My Holds to determine the date they are eligible to register as well as to see if they have any holds that will prevent them from registering.  Please review the table of HOLDS below.

·         Students will NOT be able to register before their assigned date either online or in person.

·         Students must be registered during fall 2014 in order to register during the Priority Registration dates.
