IN THE NEWS...

Recently, there have been a number of stories in the news that relate to many of the topics we have discussed in our classes.

First, the following article about Harper Lee, the author of the classic novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, has found herself in the middle of a debate about her competency to consent to publishing a new book. Unfortunately, the debate is becoming more and more common in the aging population and this article gives insight into so many of the intricacies and uncertainties associated with these questions and determinations....




On a different note, Chris Borland, an up and coming NFL player, announced his retirement. It is a strong indicator that the continued work to educate and increase awareness about Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is having an effect...
