November 20 during Common Hour in room H-30, the Social
Sciences and Criminal Justice Department will host members of the Long Island
Historical Fencing Society as they present an exhibition of late Medieval
fencing (c. 1300) with a focus on the weapon of choice for this period – the
long sword. There will be a discussion of the evolution of the sword and its
historical context and the display of various weapons and protective
equipment. All students and faculty are invited to attend. This
event is sponsored by the office of Campus Activities and Student Leadership
Development.
