Registration Procedures
Priority Registration for
the Spring 2015 semester takes place November 3-11, 2014.
Students should begin seeing
faculty advisors (if they haven’t already done so) and preparing to register
immediately!
Registration
for Wintersession also begins on November 3, 2014.
Walk in Advisement for Students with Holds:
·
Developmental Hold (Counselor Signature Required) – Advisement
available in the Counseling Center, Ammerman Building, Room 209.
·
Probation Hold (Counselor Signature Required) – Advisement
available in the Counseling Center, Ammerman Building, Room 209.
·
Faculty Advisement:
·
Students that do not require a counselor’s signature can register
online. Faculty connect with students to provide advisement in three
ways:
o
By inviting students in one or more of their classes to make an
appointment to see them.
o
Through program specific faculty connections– for
students enrolled in specific programs (e.g., Business, Criminal Justice,
etc.).
o
Through the Academic Advising & Mentoring
Center located in the Ammerman Building Room 101B—to connect with
faculty in students’ areas of interest.
Walk-In Advising:

Students, who do not need a signature, may use:
·
Academic Advising & Mentoring Center in the
Ammerman Building, Room 101B. Faculty and personnel will be available to
see students for questions and assistance. Available Mon.-Fri. 9:00am -5:00pm.

WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW TO CREATE A GOOD
SCHEDULE
·
Transcript and SAIN – Print
them out and verify that the same courses appear on both.
·
Program of Study – review
the college catalog and know what courses are required for graduation
·
Unsure of which courses to take? – speak
with a faculty member or counselor.
·
Thinking of Changing their Major
o
Speak with a faculty member or counselor to obtain more
information
o
Visit the Admissions Office in the Ammerman Building, first floor,
to complete a Change of Emphasis Form for restricted programs
or the Registrar in the Ammerman Building lower level for non-restricted
programs.
WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW
TO ACCESS THEIR STUDENT RECORDS

User Name and Password to log
onto MYSCCC. If a student cannot log in, they should try to reset
the password on-line or visit any campus Registrar to reset the password.
·
Check their SCCC email account to obtain registration
information and instructions regarding Priority Registration.
·
View My Holds to determine the date they
are eligible to register as well as to see if they have
any holds that will prevent them from registering. Please review the
table of HOLDS below.
·
Students will NOT be able to register before their assigned
date either online or in person.
·
Students must be registered during fall 2014
in order to register during the Priority Registration dates.
·
After Nov. 11, non-matriculated students may
register and current students may continue to register for classes that are
still open.
